Inspired by the 1957 movie Shri 420, Shri Hukumchand Agrawal Ji founded the 420 brand with a commitment to trust.
Starting with a small papad-badi outlet in 1962, the brand gained popularity despite initial skepticism. With his brothers’ support, Hukumchand Ji expanded the business, and the
family’s women played a key role in its growth.
Sampling at gatherings boosted recognition, leading to expansion into namkeen and machinery. The younger generation strengthened quality and supply chain management. Today, 420 Group is a trusted name in Central India, offering instant mixes, bakery products, and more-built on strong family values.

The Inspiration Behind the Brand

Shri Hukumchand Agrawal ji was inspired by a movie released in 1957 named Shri 420. That's when he decided to name the brand 420, with a motto to never break someone's trust.

The Beginning of Manufacturing

In 1962, with a small outlet started the manufacturing of papad-badi. People were shocked by the name of the brand (420 papad), yet the taste built room in their hearts.

Building a Strong Brand Identity

Hukumchand ji together with his brothers Kailash Singhal Ji and Prakash Singhal ji worked towards delivering the finest products to the customers. With time and conviction, the brand perspective was no longer associated with such a brand name (420: meaning: deceit). The ladies of the house extended full support in building the brand, as well.

Overcoming Challenges & Gaining Popularity

Gradually, the younger generation also assisted in building the brand. The brand was no longer only in manufacturing papad but extended their business into namkeen and machinery. While, Machine Manufacturing was managed by Naresh Agrawal. Narayan Agrawal, Rajesh Singhal and Anoop Singhal worked on building the brand, its quality & supply chain management.
